Since December 2025, APF have been formulating a collective response to the concerns raised by the shift in investment policy of the Church Commissioners of the Church of England which has raised many points of concern, broadly, the potential to extend investments in the arms trade not excluding nuclear weapons.
We are now encouraging members and supporters, especially those in the Church of England, to write to their local bishops and other persons of influence in the Church of England expressing concern that the new direction of policy has worrying implications for the Church’s ability to adhere to its ethical commitments.
To assist in this, in collaboration with friends in the Fellowship of Reconciliation and Christian CND we have drawn up two documents:
A Briefing which outlines the facts of the policy change and highlights some areas of particular concern
andÂ
Guidelines for Writing – it’s important that letters sent are clearly the work of a concerned individual approaching their local bishop etc so this is not a set template but rather a suggested structure for a letter including some key points of concern you may wish to raise.
Please let us know if you receive any response to your letter by emailing either sarah@anglicanpeacemaker.co.uk or chair@anglicanpeacemaker.co.uk.

To continue our peacemaking work, APF relies on regular donations from members and supporters.
