As a member of APF in New Zealand, I have focussed on the Biblical and theological challenge to the Church on the issue of war, and have contributed to the APF submission to the Lambeth Conferences. It seems to me that this challenge is similar in magnitude to the Covid virus, though the diagnosis and the antidote are very different. The diagnosis of war is found in human nature itself, especially the irrational side, which, in fear, hatred, anger and revenge, is a dominant component. The antidote or vaccine to be discerned and used is the power of love in the risen Christ. Hence the challenge to the Church today.
